As for being disconnected from relality I am very were of how job markets work and sometimes you have to suss out an industry I mean if you wanted to say be a train driver and asked some one how to get into that chances are your ideas about it will be far from the reality same with a lot of skilled jobs the skills or training required or the career path taken may not match expextation.

The reason I wouldnt want to go into development is because I know it's very tough to do and can have a high impact on your home life plus I find coding tedious it's just not for me but is it wrong to explore opportunities i am industry you have an interest in?
