Getting a game published and copyrighted
Im new at game designing and i was wondering if anyone could help me by telling where i could go to find more information on how to a copyright and get a game published or tell me how you did it if you did.

you can get a game published at garagegames.com, i believe they will also liscence the torque engine(Tribes 2 engine)

You have copyright on anything you make, but there won''t be a lawyer willing to help you without paperwork.
Its easy to prove copyright on a game. Every time you back it up save it to a CD. You will have an incremental record of your game''s creation.
also you might want to put one of the cds in a sealed envelope and post it to yourself. that way you get a legally upholdable date on the cretion of that code via the US postmark.

Guys, _don''t_ do this. It''s been defeated in court many, many times.
What you should do is put a copy in an envelope, and then have a notary public certify that he saw you do it and place his seal on the envelope.
You might wanna go to the Library of Congress website. For $30 you can copyright the code and graphics. www.loc.gov
AP is correct. Posting something to yourself is NOT proof. You could easily post an unsealed, empty envelop to yourself and then at a later date put something in and seal it.
