So I have access to several Unix machines that have a variety of free c and c++ compilers. But to code for Windows using DirectX and such, do I need to get a copy of Visual C++? I''m just confused. All I want to do is experiment with ActiveX and OpenGL on a windows platform. So please tell me what software I need. Thanks a lot! phlux was here

You don''t *need* Visual C++. There are a number of free alternatives.
ReactOS - an Open-source operating system compatible with Windows NT apps and drivers
You should try Dev C++, a free compiler.
You may guess three times what you find at http://www.bloodshed.net !
