This Game Art forum seems to pretty dead. Where are all of the game artists?? Are there other sites with more active discussions on creating game art??

I think you will often find that artists have a lot of program specific questions, and so a great many might post a lot of questions to forums relating to just their tool of choice.

Seems like programmers tend to be more active on this site. Personally I''m found of 2D graphics, especially details, objects, user interfaces, fonts, logos, etc.
Makes sense that this forum is less active. What would you ask about art that can be answered in a text only environment? Sure you can talk about what tools to use and what books to read but you''d be hard pressed to show someone a method on how to draw.
Plus, drawing is more of a skill that''s built up with practice. Programming deals a lot with finding out how to do something.

I wish this forum was a bit more active as well; tell all of your friends to come on by and post some stuff. I''d even like to see links referring to artwork that you would like critiqued. We can all improve if we see what others are doing, and those who post may be able to take something away from the comments posted.

My wife''s letting me get a web page this weekend, I''ll post it here when I do. I don''t have a scanner yet (but I ordered one last week) but I do have a couple of old drawings a friend scanned in for me. I''m better now but it''ll have to do for a while.
Does anyone here have an art page!? I just LOVE looking at other people''s art and see their techniques. Even if it''s not very good art, it''s still interesting to see.

There are TONS of pages you can check out. 3dcafe (http://www.3dcafe.com) has a great section of artwork people have sent in. Also check out highend3d (http://www.highend3d.com) for artwork so good you''ll want to throw your computer out a window for making you look bad

I know where to find lots of artists (My favorate being Yerf.com) but I was thinking about "local" artists. It's always fun to talk to artist about techniques. Check out www.noogy.com. He's a good artist and chats on a message board I'm on. He's done part of the graphics for the game "Jazz Jackrabbit 2" including the starting and ending animations.

I'm currently trying to get my web page to work. I found out that when I FTP'd the files from work, the all became uppercased and the file names are case sensitive.
