yea well actually the reference above teach u how to start game programming...not programming.
It''s a good place to start though once u grab some tuts on the netabout programming in general.
After Tuts u should pick a good book about on language, on with the fundamental of that language.
For what language to pick look at reference above. My personnal favourite is Delphi or ObjectPascal though reading some tuts u may notice that most game programmers think its only suited for tools developpement and not game. I do not agree
Finally u can begin on the path to game programming with tuts at the link above
