I'm glad that you're feeling more inspired! I hope that you do jump into game-dev, and that you find it rewarding! ^_^

Don't worry about what you need, just do it.

If you have a C++ foundation, take a week to simply read the UE4 tutorial and video, and then spend a few days to determine what the game you want to make is like, and then Let's just start, if you encounter a problem, then look for a solution to the specific problem.

At least I did that, haha.
