INTRODUCTION

Hello there!

We are a small but ambitious team. We are looking for self-motivated teammates. The current phase of out project is the development of a prototype of the combat system, in view of which we more need C++\UE4 Blueprint programmers and character animators (and modellers and riggers!).

As is clear from the paragraph above, now we can not cooperate on commercial terms, but. Upon completion of the prototype, the project is supposed to be commercialized, followed by rolling out the desired prototype to search for an investor or raise funds through a crowdfunding platform.

Now our team has:

  1. The only coder and initiator of the project, once engaged in the creation of a balanced mod for Sacred 1. In fact, the developer of the old school and is now only studying UE4 as an engine.
  2. I am, the main game designer, the design of the architecture of interconnections, the main vision of the project. In the gaming industry for over 6 years as a game designer. The first three years worked in the mobile segment, now - in one of the largest gaming companies in the CIS.
  3. Balanced game designer - a person also involved in the production of a balanced mod for Sacred 1 - ReBorn Mod.

ABOUT THE GAME

Genre: ARPG \ Hack’n’slash in an open seamless world like in to Sacred 1 and a combat system based on an alloy of hack’n’slash and twin-stick shooters. Despite the prevalence of these genres, we are doing a fairly niche project, mainly because of the character control system (read below)
Setting: “classic” dark fantasy plexus with a heroic epic.

Reference Universes: Worlds of Warhammer FB, The Witcher, Dragon Age Series
Platform: PC
Engine: Unreal Engine 4

Visual style: realistic (PBR)

USP

In the LifeLeech player takes control of one of the presented characters and travels the vast game world. Heroes have to visit many interesting places and meet various characters. But at the very beginning of the path you will realize that your hordes of enemies are blocked by hordes of enemies at other obstacles. Get ready for a heroic mission to save the world … or conquer it!

Key Features:

  1. Up to 6 playable characters to choose from, each with its own characteristics and the development of combat skills and magic schools.
  2. Responsive direct control. Cut enemies in adrenaline fights, but do not forget about maneuvering and tactics.
  3. Unique character development system with modifications of skills.
  4. A huge amount of weapons and equipment
  5. A large open world with memorable events and tasks

Battle and controls

(This is the main area of work in the prototype). Unlike the classic point-to-move controls for the hack’n’lash genre, we want to give players a different experience - the fusion of managing isometric slashers with top-down shooters. The player will control the character’s movement by pressing the WASD key combination, and strike or shoot exactly in the direction of the cursor, while most skills will be available while moving. Due to this control and a combination of mechanics, such as staggers when dealing damage to enemies, as well as the fact that weak enemies will stop to strike, we want to bring great importance to the kite and maneuvering in the gameplay.
Moreover, almost all the iconic features for the h’n’s genre, parameters and mechanics will continue to have a great influence on the success of passing dungeons and other activities. By mechanics and features we mean the influence of objects on the character’s basic character traits, the ability to receive traits and perks, increase the chance and damage of critical hits, etc.
For a better understanding of the proposed control system, you can check the following games: Bloodline Champions \ Battlerite, Forced, Gauntlet.

Character progression (in prototype)

As mentioned above - the search for items of a high level of rarity with additional properties will have a big impact on the gameplay. But also players will be able to develop their character with the achievement of each level - receiving and investing skill points in a particular skill.
As part of the first prototype, we are not working on this system - it is assumed that there are only two (maximum - three) characters with a predefined set of active skills and “innate” characteristics.
