AAA industry

Hello guys !

I just have 2 questions. The first one is Does it require a cs or computer engineering degree to break into AAA industry ?

the second one is What is the recommended roadmap for a gameplay programmer ?

So that's the answer to #2. As for #1: yes, a CS degree is a requirement, for a job at a triple-A company. You have very stiff competition, and you need all the ammo you can get.

Details depend on your location in the globe. You don't compete for jobs in a vacuum, you compete against other applicants. At major studios in the US, a bachelors degree in computer science is common and typical.

People still find jobs without the degree, but they're generally not the first choice. Typically people are called for interviews based on their background: Significant industry experience, degree plus solid portfolio, degree with no portfolio, and solid portfolio without degree all get called before people with neither a degree nor portfolio.
