How much would you ask for as a salary with my portfolio

Hi, I have a question and I don't know where and to whom I could ask it, so I found this forum. I don't really know how the prices work and how much I should ask for. How much would you ask for if you were to be hired by a company and you had my portfolio? I am attaching some of my work here, I don't know if that's ok and I don't want it to be considered as self advertising. I just want to hear some opinions.

What country do you live in? It looks like you are an environments artist. See the following links:

I am from Romania. I appreciate your reply, but I'm not looking for statistics and average salaries. I would just like to know personally, if some company approached you, what salary would you be asking for with a portfolio like mine

Hi! You want a wild guess so beware, you are getting a wild guess :)

From an anonymous senior artist friend, our WILD guess for a monthly salary at a non-junior environment art position within an established studio in the Central Europe might be 1.0x - 1.9x the average monthly salary of the whole economy. Look it up.

It will differ wildly across Europe, not even considering overseas. But the living costs will also be different.

As a contractor? As an employee? Do you have an actual CV of work in the industry or just a portfolio? When you say approached you, do you mean that you have had direct cold contact from a company, that you've advertised for work, or that you've applied for a open position?

If the salary is for your work while you are still in Romania, I would look at what other artists in your part of Romania are charging, and ask for that.  If the salary is for a different city and they want you to move, I would research what salary is typical in that region.  Is it salary for a job in Bucharest? Salary for a job in Athens? Or Belgrade?  Or Zagreb or Vienna or Prague or Berlin? Wherever the job will be, the salary should be based on the location you will be working.

The quality of your work (or possible lack of it) is only a small factor in how much money to ask.

Location is the biggest reason for salary differences.  Salary for someone in the expensive cities like New York City or London or Tokyo will be enormous compared to most other locations on the globe.

For example, if the job is in Zurich it should probably pay about twice as much as a similar job in Bucharest, even if the work and the results are otherwise exactly the same.
