Developing Website for Marketing

I *think* this is the right place for this question. It is more of a business facing question, as well as something related to marketing during the production phase. So, here goes. Are there any good game developer websites out there that do a good job marketing their brand as well as the games they sell? For instance, would it be better to have the company and updates (such as blog posts and social media links) as the foremost content, or just slap a visitor in the face with a list of games that are up and coming as well as already out there? Links to good game developer or publisher websites (from a marketing perspective) would be awesome!

Thanks!

Good sites to both. You see branding both for the company and for the games they make.

The site may start off with a highlight of the latest product, then smaller bits of marketing for recent products, then maybe support and discussion links and commentary.

Often you see the branding but don't think about it on a conscious level. Examples are having the company logo not just on the top left corner of the web site, but the logo used as bullets in bulleted lists, the logo appearing on all the product images, the logo appearing as the section break along the web pages.

Be best at this have ever-present branding, but done in a way that doesn't feel pushy.

Thanks for this list and the other comments. It'll help me organize a good layout for the website.

P.S. your blog is very resourceful.
