Does anyone know any good, stable and fast webshost that are free or at least cheap? I am willing to put a banner on my site to get the hosting for free. Johan Torp - http://www.destruction.nu

I know a place to get hosting pretty cheap, $5.99/mo. or $57/year. The site is http://www.saluhost.com/ They don''t have that plan listed on the site anymore (cheapest on the site is $9.99/mo), but if you email them I''m sure they''ll still give you the old package.

I''ve always thought anonymous posting shouldn''t be allowed, even more proof they just start flame wars for no reason.

For the cost of an internet provider monthly fee:

(1) IP address
If you have an internet provider that gives you a relatively static IP address (cable, DSL that rarely changes your ISP) then run a webhost on your computer.

(2) Domain name
To appear much more professional, register a domain name with someone like Network Solutions for a small annual fee.

(3) Web server
If you use Windows 2000, check out the WWW services. You can set up a web host very very simply on your IP address, then point a FQDN to that IP address (from step 1). Otherwise, use a free web server program (Analog-X makes a great one available for free).

(4) FTP server
If you have files that you make available to the public, set up a small FTP server that lets you manage accounts, and logs access to files. Check out Serv-U FTP Server, it''s fairly easy to set up, and is very reliable.
