I didnt realy know which forum to put this in. I am running Windows 98. When the computer first starts up, it has the screen where it has your password and user name. If you try to type in the wrong password for the user id then it wont let you on which is what i want. But if you just press the cancel button, it continues and logs on anyway. Is there a way to stop this ? I want to make them type in the password and if they dont then it wont let them on. How can I do this ? Development is well under way and we do have a playable demo. Always looking for help. Digital Euphoria Soft

hey doode..
you should have just asked me..

from what i know.. win98'' doesn''t have any REAL security whatsoever..

i think you can get a proggy to do it (from norton i think as well as others)

that will make your computer more secure..

an easy way is to just put a bios password on your computer.. so you can''t even boot it up without it..

the other way is upgrade to windows 2000 which uses the NT security system wish is much more hardy.
There is a way to do it, I''m trying to look it up, since I''ve forgotten how...

Well, I can''t find the registry hack that is necessary to pull this off. Though I''ve got a Win9x site looking for the answer, I''ll post it once they find it .

Or you could use PolEdit, TweekUI or RegEdit to give the default user nearly no privilages (one blank desktop and a startmenu with nearly everything missing is the best I have done.)
