I just finished my first game. Its a vertically scrolling shooter using directdraw, directinput and directsound. The homepage for the game is http://www.ozemail.com.au/~donaldha/eradicator I learned a lot during this game, I have posted a timeline of the development at http://www.ozemail.com.au/~donaldha/eradicator/project.html Edited by - BoySinister on 5/21/00 6:59:31 AM

Cool game. I know what you mean about it looking a bit like Halo, if you squint very hard and turn you head to the side that is.

Is your main ship streched? Because it looks a little blurry. My tip for making cool 2D ships is too make them in a 3D modeller (don't hold back on nurbs etc.) then export them to a 2D bitmap, they always look very futuristic.

Also your timeline isn't at that URL, I went there and just got an error404. (Never mind, you've changed it now)

Teeheehee, that''s the only large sprite I drew myself. The enemy ships are from spritelib After finishing the player I realised what a bad computer artist I was so decided to hit the search engines. I need to buy a scanner. I have PSP and photoshop but I haven''t really learned how to use them yet. Nor the sound editor I downloaded. While I suppose it would be a good idea to learn to use those types of tools, I''d rather (eventually) just be in a team with other people specialised in those more artistic aspects.
