New PFE for you
Published February 04, 1999
Just a quick note today. One of my all-time favorite freebie utilities,
PFE, has just released a new version. Yes, it's a notepad replacement, but it's an good one. It'll edit files of unlimited size, it's got excellent search-n-replace, it's easy to map the keys, it can record and play keyboard macros, and it's FAST! If you're using Notepad or the VC++ editor to edit day-to-day files, you'll thank me later after downloading this.
Thankfully, this new version is mostly bugfixes. They didn't clutter it up with a buncha new features that I wouldn't use.
Note: Don't be immediately turned off by the cheesy-looking toolbar. You can turn it off so you never have to look at it again. Not sure why they even bothered with it.
