Minecraft on the XBox

Despite my interest in the generation of 3D cube worlds, I've never played Minecraft. Nevertheless, I have had my eye on it since first hearing about it over on the Tigsource forums, and I've been fascinated by the success of the project despite its lack of a "traditional" marketing and PR machine behind it. Looks like those days might be over.

Quote: "I find myself in a strange situation here! There's going to [sic] actual marketing for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, so I've agreed to be slightly less transparent than usual when it comes to that version, so now I basically have no idea what I can and what I can't say..."

also:

"I have been instructed not to reply to this question, so here's a picture of a sheep instead..."

To me, that seems to indicate that the openness and community-oriented process Notch has favored so far just might be going away. Once you have somebody else instructing you what you can and can't say in reply to a question, it seems like the end is nigh.
