The IRC server is back online! To connect to it, either use our &#106avascript based Mibbit client at the top of the forum index at http://www.ifthensoftware.net/forums/ or connect with another client using the following information:

Server: irc.ifthensoftware.net
Port: 6667
Channel: #lobby

If you might, for any reason, need to change an executable compiled from VB6 code, hold on to that VB6 install CD for dear life! Last week we needed to move the server to a new location, which also means that the IP for the server changes. The Loradon 2.1 servers connect to the database server with a static IP, rather than a hostname. This caused the Loradon 2.1 servers to break, so I have been trying to find a way to edit the IP without recompiling the servers. I ended up using dyndns.com to create a hostname that would fit into the old IP's string and used a hex editor to replace the old IP with the dyndns.com hostname.

Last week the servers were put down and they have been set up at a new location. With no IRC chat or games up, the community was, of course, left to only the forums. I always think it is funny how many players do not play the game actively or join IRC every day will complain about the servers being down or issues with them. It has only been a few days and IRC is already up.

As Loradon3.0's progress page shows, the percentage has gone down due to more content being added on the to-do list. I am not disappointed because this means there will be more content in the preview when it does come out, and it was just added to the equation, so progress has not gone backwards, the game is still moving forward as far as development, so please be patient as the developers try to make the best first impression possible!

Stick Adventures Online cannot be put up yet because some changes have been made, exciting ones at that. Hopefully this small addition can be a fun surprise to players and give us all something to do while Loradon3.0 is being worked on. While privately testing, I noticed 3 bugs, that's in more than one way. ;) If the SAO server is put up now, everyone will have issues connecting and logging in. Please be patient while these issues are fixed, that is the server kicking you on your first attempt to login, you must retry for it to work. A slightly less severe bug is a message saying the server is down when it is really up, and it may say it on retry, but the client will not exit.

Thanks to all who keep up to date with the Community Spotlight Article and the rest of this newsletter,
As an incentive, I've included hints to what the small addition to SAO is.
You'll have to see for yourself what and where it is :)
